It's broken up into sections with fun illustrations and unique quotes and prompts to inspire and engage. The authors have laid it out so you can fill it in at any pace, in any order, in many different and creative ways that fit your style. The questions and prompts are truly thought-provoking- I think in addition to recording your life's history, you could probably work through a lot here, by investigating subjects that you may not have thought of in many years! Overall, I highly recommend this book. I ordered two- one for myself and one for my spouse, but I think it would be a great gift for an older friend or family member as well."

- I think the hardest part of trying to write a life story or personal history is that it gets overwhelming pretty quickly. This book helps you break it down into manageable parts, with prompts that will engage your mind and your memory without making judgments or assumptions.

- This is such a great idea. I bought two copies! One for myself and one for an old guy I work with who has had the most amazing life. I've been joking for years he needs to write a book. I hope giving him this book will inspire him!
The book itself is beautiful. The illustrations are artful and creative. It's just a fun and inspiring book. - I purchased this book because I was interested in writing my own story. It has been something I was interested in for a long time, but I never took the time to put pen to paper and get it done. This workbook makes it so easy ​and less intimidating than starting with a blank piece of paper. The illustrations are beautiful. I plan on buying several more and gifting them to people at important moments of their lives. I am hoping to start mine soon, andI hope that my children will appreciate it one day when I am gone. - My wife and I were separately working on memoir type writing projects last year with very different expectations for how the Presidential election would turn out. We were writing to record the crazy, charmed, blessed, and bizarre way we each had grown up and found each other and to pass on some type of value and wisdom to our 10 y.o. child. Since the election, we were stunned and numb and have slowly come back to renew our vigor, political activism and basic hope.
I LIVED THIS is the right book at the right time for us to reclaim all the good and everything we still want to give our daughter from parents who lived through NEVER AGAIN and want our child to NEVER FORGET. - To tell my story is to save it. I know who I am when I see what I write. This book is a beautiful way to explore, honor and understand all the past selves that make up me. The questions are open ended so they work for anyone. They really get you writing. The drawings set the mood and inspire. I've always been an awkward journaller but this book is as easy and natural to do as sitting with old friends passing stories back and forth.
